It doesn’t matter if I can’t accept the rules. Someone else is always ready to play. Not everyone is ready to win. Because, what comes next? Distraction. Always something new. The best ability in the game is repeatability. Can you do it again? And again? The worst ability is distractibility. No focus, it means you chase the dot across the floor, until you get tired of pursuing the shadow.
The shadow says you can’t. Society says you won’t. You tell yourself you shouldn’t. And that is the game. Are you ready.
Mere entertainment is a way to make the world go away, while pretending to be involved. It’s not all bad. The inner world can be instructed by your attention to the play. But you have to see where the game ends. What has it taught you? Can you apply the rules to the game you are playing now? Does it fit. What difference does it make?
SCREEN
The game on display has rules. It appears to have rules, at least. There are some that are not written down, though. And even the rules written down are subject to interpretation, based on conditions in place, like who is breaking the rules. The one who the crowd came to see. The game is a show, above all. People are earning money getting the crowd to buy the story being told. And the eyeballs are the prize.
However, the work that goes on out of sight determines what gets accomplished. And nothing happens without logistics, without pushing a cart, without raking the dirt, without selling the food, without growing the food, without planting the fields, without rowing the boat. How badly can we treat those people, distract them from their power, even though nothing runs without them. Distract them from the play with a screen. Touchdown.
Don’t worry. We’ll find someone who will do it. Your energy drink will magically appear. The soda fountain will give you carbonation, and syrup, and ice. Everything works until it doesn’t. Then you pivot. Don’t worry about a thing. You can’t do anything about it, so don’t worry, about a thing, ‘cause every little thing, is gonna be alright. Those birds don’t worry about anything, except hawks and cats. That is the perspective, and they deal with it.
MATTHEW 6-26-27
26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
